The Foundation currently runs seminars in the following areas: |
|
The Wavelets seminar aims at acquiring knowledge
of the modern applications of wavelets such as in signal processing
and image processing. The group will investigate how wavelets
can be used to define distance between images, which leads to
the development of a search engine for images. |

| Buildings are fundamental objects used to
study groups that act on them. The idea is that in order to
study a group, one discovers or constructs a building naturally
associated to it on which the group acts ‘nicely’.
The aim of our reading seminar is to approach the theory of
buildings axiomatically and to reach a stage where the various
facets of a building from the point of view of incidence geometry,
algebraic groups, group theory etc. become meaningful. |
