Math helpline: A blessing for board
students
|
NEW DELHI: Facing problems preparing for your board mathematics
paper? Don't worry. Just pick up the phone and ask Delhi University
(DU) teachers for the right answers.
|
An educational society based at St. Stephen's College has
started a mathematics helpline for students of Classes X and
XII. The panel of experts at the helpline being run by the Mathematical
Sciences Foundation (MSF), comprises teachers from St. Stephens
and professors from DU and Agra University . Students pursuing
their masters and PhD in mathematics at DU are also part of
the team.

''Unfortunately not many maths teachers are able to rid students
off the paranoia associated with the subject, let alone make
it interesting. The aim of the helpline is to provide tips and
clarify some basic principals which can help students score
better,'' said MSF director, Dinesh Singh.

Though the helpline will officially be active till February
21, officials say that the duration can be extended if students
come up with queries. ''We've had a very good response on the
first day from both public and government school students. If
such a response continues we will extend counseling dates,''
said an official.
